Isle of Wight Tour 2016 - Last year saw the Kennet Accordion Orchestra undertake a hugely successful tour of the Isle of Wight. Following the success, last weekend the orchestra visited the Island to do it all over again – however this time with a selection of different venues.  ... more


Christmas 2015 - KAO had a busy festive season 2015.  They were asked by two local Rotary Clubs to play at their Christmas parties.  Hungerford Rotary Club held their party in the Town Hall in Hungerford and the orchestra entertained them with festive songs and popular pieces, which had them dancing round the tables!  ... more


26/6/15 - Charity concert raises £2000 for Newbury & District Cancer Care Trust

The orchestra were approached to perform this concert in aid of the Newbury and District Cancer Care Trust. The charity is very close to the heart of our bass player Dodie, who has recently been through some intensive chemotherapy and received wonderful support from the trust throughout. ..... more


'Accordions Aweigh' Spring Tour - The orchestra travelled to the Isle of Wight on 1st May for a short spring tour, which saw the players perform four concerts on the island. Our trip coincided with the annual Isle of Arts festival, which features comedy, drama, music, literature, film, photography, painting and sculpture... more


Congratulations to Ray Lewis who recently took his Grade 6 Theory exam. We are delighted to say Ray passed this advanced level with flying colours, achieving 98%. This achievement also results in Ray being awarded the “Sir James Anderton Challenge Shield”, presented by the British College of Accordionists (BCA) to the candidate who achieves the highest mark (in the country) ............. more


Carillon Accordion Festival Eastbourne, Feb 15 - KAO kicked off 2015 with a fantastic weekend away to the south coast, to participate in the Carillon Winter Accordion Weekend. The event arranged by John Romero saw over 100 accordionists from around the UK come together at the Queens Hotel in Eastbourne, for a few days of fun and music ............. more


December 2014 - As another year draws to a close, the orchestra will be looking forward to a festive break after a busy end to 2014. Following some intensive practice, on 1st November the orchestra participated in the Southern Area Accordion Championships in Wimborne ............. more


September 2014 - The KAO has been busy recently with two concerts, a week apart. The first one was on 6th September at the Deanwood Golf Club and was arranged by the Newbury Lions Club to raise money for their Christmas appeal. The concert was enjoyed by about eighty people and raised over £1,000 ............. more


March 2014 - The end of 2013 saw the orchestra complete a busy festive season, performing at a number of concerts, competitions, shows and accordion club events throughout November and December. ............. more


July 2013 - The players are enjoying a well earned rest following an exhilarating weekend which saw KAO performing two concerts, firstly in Devizes on Saturday evening at St Andrews Church, followed by our annual HADCAF concert at Croft Hall, Hungerford on Sunday. ............. more
